Panettone - a protected food tradition and a symbol of hospitality and conviviality that celebrates this special season.

Updated: Nov 16

Italian bakers and pastry chefs continue the historical making of panettone every year during the Christmas season and we are the fortunate beneficiaries of their efforts.

Every holiday season Italians line up at the local pasticerria to buy panettone, the traditional Milanese cake-like bread so loved by Italians that they are willing to stand in line when they see the domed cake-like bread appear in pastry shop windows.

This season CosituttiMarketPlace will be offering Giusti Panettone with Balsamic di Modena. Balsamic producer Giusti together with Antica Pasticceria Muzzi have combined both the Modena and Milanese traditions to make this unique version of a traditional panettone. Gold Medal balsamic from the renown acetaia of Giuseppe Giusti in Modena is added to the dough, used to soak the raisins and added in the form of cream filling. The rich, syrupy, fragrant flavor and aroma of the balsamic is a perfect complement to the fragrant softness of this traditional holiday panettone.

Don’t confuse this panettone with the mass marketed panettone found in big box discount stores in the States. It is about as far removed in taste and quality as mortadella is from bologna.

Available for delivery the week of 11/18.
